The Benefits Of Offline Marketing From An Online, Digital Marketing Expert
Danny Star, CEO and founder of digital marketing agency Website Depot , has helped hundreds of small businesses grow and grow.
Are you doing your best in digital marketing for your business but not getting the results you want? Are you looking for the best keywords, using them correctly in your content marketing strategy, all coming from an optimized website, but still not seeing the success you were hoping for? This can happen to more companies than you think. Of course, digital marketing is important. But when my employer came to me to say a copy of the above, "What about offline marketing?"
Definition of offline marketing
As you can understand, this question can confuse you. After all, I'm a digital marketer, so the questions can be confusing. But I'm a strong believer in using traditional offline marketing to help and support your digital marketing efforts.
When I say offline marketing, I mean any kind of non-digital marketing. Billboards, bus stop ads, brochures, flyers, radio ads, TV ads are all forms of offline marketing. This type of offline marketing is also used successfully by my customers every day.
Remember, offline marketing isn't just "marketing you pay for." Some of the most effective forms of offline marketing are the ones that give you a real opportunity: face-to-face interactions. I can't tell you how effective attending conferences, meetings, mixers, trade shows and the like has been for me and my team over the years. Anywhere you can meet people who might be interested in what you do, marketing opportunities can arise.
While it can be successful, it's not the primary form of marketing. Not anymore. Although they can all be effective, they don't have access to digital marketing. Also, they cannot be targeted. Also, you can't measure their analytics as well as you can with digital marketing. Despite all of this, offline marketing can be an effective part of your strategy (even if it's not the main part).
The main reasons for offline marketing
It's simple: because you can reach the people that digital marketing can't. Of course, organic search engine optimization and paid advertising can be targeted to people who are online, but there are still people who aren't all online. Yes, they are decreasing every year, but offline marketing still has its uses.
Here's an analogy I often use with clients: Offline marketing can come like billboards to someone walking home from the store with a bag in each hand. Since you are obsessed with our phones, it is difficult to check your phone if your hands are not free. Offline marketing can reach people that digital marketing cannot (and probably never will) reach.
Even if it is offline marketing, you still have to think about it. A bulletin board can be very effective, yes. But this modern version still exists. Case in point: truck with LED sign. They can be rented and sent on trips to the selected area. You also get a truck that plays videos of your truck along the way.
Well, as you can imagine, no matter how effective and attractive an advertisement is, it can be more attractive than any advertisement. This is the offline advertising limit. Technological advances are not limited to digital marketing.
To get the most out of one of these trucks, make a good video, but keep it short. Note that people may not be able to see it for a long time. To further reduce costs, you can rent trucks from other companies, play their videos after you, and so on. Put the QR code on the truck to get the most out of it. That way, anyone interested in your video can pick up the phone and go to the page they want. Full Disclosure: My company offers this service.
You can improve your offline marketing and improve yourself at the same time
Another great way to improve your business and marketing (as well as your self-esteem) is by giving a speech. You read that right: tell us about your business, what you do etc. I've been doing this for years and they've really helped me grow my business (and great for networking at the same time).
Giving a letter is a great way to show your expertise. They can communicate on a truly human level that no other form of marketing can. Plus (and don't underestimate that) it's fun. You speak to interested people about something that is important to you. You will never go out.
A piece of advice: if reading this section makes you nervous, start small. Work in small groups, and as you gain confidence and self-control, move on to larger, more popular shows.
right combination
Digital marketing will not replace offline marketing, at least not completely. Yes, digital marketing is the best and most effective form of marketing. However, this is not the only effective marketing method. In fact, consistent branding in offline marketing can help with your digital marketing. When digital marketing and offline marketing are combined, you can really take your business to the next level.
