Google Panda has become a major ranking signal

In 2016, Google Panda became part of Google's main ranking algorithm.

Google Panda was one of Google's first anti-spam algorithms. The latest confirmed update, first released in February 2011, is Panda 4.2, which was released on July 18, 2015.

The Google Panda algorithm guide published in The SEM Post includes some new quotes about Google Panda attributed to the "Google spokesperson". Among them was the announcement that Panda is now part of Google's core ranking algorithm.
