We talked about what happened when Search Engine Land disabled AMP in 2022.
TL; DR: "We saw very little disruption in our traffic and clearly benefited from our audience analytics."
We didn't see a year-over-year decline in traffic that we could attribute to AMP, except for a partial decline in additional pageviews for total organic traffic.
Why did Search Engine Land disable AMP? As we explained in Disable AMP Pages in Search , this was due to competition in top news stories (AMP inclusion in top news stories was no longer required) and declining support for social media platforms.
