Adobe Signs Chip Supplier Qualcomm For Marketing Tech Software

(Reuters) - Adobe Inc said Thursday it has signed an agreement with semiconductor company Qualcomm Inc as a customer for its cloud-based marketing software.
Once known for tools like Photoshop used to create websites and digital marketing materials, Adobe has expanded its business to include software for managing these materials and tracking how they perform to engage customers.
Subscription marketing software helped Adobe become one of the few software companies founded in the 1980s to transition into the modern era of cloud computing and nearly double its revenue since 2018.
In Qualcomm's case, the Adobe software deal means the San Diego, California-based semiconductor company is expanding its business from selling chips for mobile phones to selling computer chips for cars, drones and other applications.
This means that Qualcomm is trying to attract customers from different industries. One part of the company's website could show Android software developers how to work with Qualcomm's latest smartphone chips, while another part of its website could be a portal where automotive engineering teams can order test systems for developing self-driving cars. .
Adobe software allows Qualcomm to control and customize these elements of its website to better reach each customer group.
“Whether consumers are buying connected devices or next generation chips, everyone now expects their brand to be engaging, connected and relevant,” said Don McGuire, Chief Marketing Officer of Qualcomm.
The company did not disclose the amount of compensation.
